DELHI, the capital of India has a fascinating history and
a stimulating present. Believed to be the same Indraprastha
described in the " Mahabharat", Delhi has been the
seat of power of a number of dynasties The Rajputs, the Muslim
invaders from the north, the Afghan dynasties followed by
the Tuglaqs, the Sayyaids, the Lodhis and the Mughals, who
continued the imperial line, until the British days.
AGRA
the 'City of the Taj' - one of the seven wonders, perhaps
the most photographed monument. Built by Mughal Emperor ShahJehan
in memory of his beloved wife Mumtaj Mahal in 1630, the beautiful
mausoleum is made of pure white marble and is an architectural
marvel. FATEHPUR SIKRI the deserted Mughal capital city; the
audience halls, palaces and mosques are still in a state of
perfection as are the tomb of Muslim saint where people still
emerge in hundreds to obtain blessings. JAIPUR The rose pink
capital of Rajasthan is surrounded on all sides by rugged
hills, crowned with forts, the city was founded in 1728 and
boasts of a star observatory made of stone & mortar which
still exists.
Day 01 Arrive at New Delhi. Check in at the Hotel. Afternoon
city tour. Overnight stay at the Hotel.
Day 02 Travel by surface Delhi to Agra visiting tomb of Akbar
at Sikandra enroute. Arrive at Agra check in at the Hotel
and later visit Agra Fort.
Day 03 Morning visit Taj Mahal during sun-rise and later drive
to Jaipur enroute visiting the deserted capital city of Fatehpur
Sikri. Arrive and check in at the Hotel.
Day 04 Morning visit Amber fort. Be a royalty and enjoy elephant
ride to the top of the hill - Amber Fort. Afternoon city tour
visiting the Astronomical Observatory and City Palace.
Day 05 Check out from Hotel and leave for onward destination.
