PROGRAMME 1
:
Day 1 - DELHI
Arrive Delhi Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer
to hotel. Overnight at hotel.
Day 2 - DELHI
Morning city sightseeing of Old and New Delhi Visiting Qutab
Minar, India Gate (war memorial), Laxmi Narayan Temple, Modern
Hindu Temple, Drive past President’s House, Parliament house and
Secretariat Buildings. Also visit Raj Ghat and Shanti Vana the
cremation sites of Mahatma Gandhi and Jawaharlal Nehru, Also
visit Jama Masjid, Red Fort and drive Chandni Chowk.
Afternoon visit SAHELI - a women resources center
Overnight at hotel.
Day 3 - DELHI
Visiting a Women’s technical training Institute. Also meet
an eminent Women personality. Overnight at hotel.
Day 4, - DELHI / JAIPUR
Delhi to Jaipur by Coach. Upon arrival check in at hotel.
Meet the Queen of Jaipur and other ladies of the Royal Family
for tea.
Half day city sightseeing tour visiting Maharaja’s city palace
and Hawa Mahal or the palace of Winds and through the rose pink
residential and business areas of Jaipur.
Overnight at the hotel.
Day 5 - JAIPUR / AGRA
Jaipur to Agra by coach. Enroute visit Fatehpur Sikri -
built by emperor Akbar in 1569.
Afternoon city tour visiting the Taj Mahal, built by Emperor
Shahjehan in 1630 for his queen Mumtaz Mahal to enshrine her
mortal remain. Later visit the Red Fort containing the hall of
Private and public audiences. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6 - AGRA / KHAJURAHO
Morning transfer to airport to board flight for Khajuraho
Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel.
Afternoon city sightseeing of the Eastern Group of Temples that
consist of the Parasvanath Temple, which is the only Jain
Temple, surviving at Khajuraho and has excellent Sculptures on
the outer walls of the sanctum. The Javeri temples dedicated to
Vishnu. The other temples in this group are those dedicated to
Brahma, Yamuna and Adinarth. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7 - KHAJURAHO / VARANASI
Morning transfer to airport to board flight for Varanasi.
Meeting and assistance and transfer to hotel. Afternoon city
sightseeing tour visiting the Bharat Mata Temple with big relief
map of India in marble, Durga Temple, Tulsi Manas Mandir,
Benaras Hindu University which has an art gallery and the Mosque
of Mughal Emperor Aurangzeb built on the site of an ancient
Hindu temple. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8 - VARANASI / KATHMANDU
Early morning boat excursion on the Holy Ganges to see the
Bathing Ghats and cremation site. Watching people bathing and
worshipping at the Ghats is one of the extraordinary experience
of a visit to India. In time transfer to the airport to board
flight for Kathmandu. Meeting and assistance and transfer to
hotel.

Day 9 - KATHMANDU
Morning city sightseeing tour visiting the Durbar Square,
Hunuman Dhoka, the ancient royal residential quarter Mahadev and
Parvati Temple, Machhender Bahl holy place for the Buddhist and
Hindus, temple of Kumari the vestal virgin of the living Goddess
walk around the local bazaars. Attend a meeting with the CWD
networker the WID News to interface with women actively involved
in various fields in aspects of the Nepalese economy, society,
politics etc.
Day 10 - DEPART KATHAMNDU
In time transfer to the airport to board flight for onward
destination.

Morning excursion to Amber Fort with Elephant ride Amber was
the capital of the state until 1728. Visit the Jagmandir or the
hall of victory,, glittering with mirrors Jai Mahal and the Kali
temple. Afternoon city sightseeing tour visiting Maharaja’s city
palace and Hawa Mahal or the palace of Winds and through the
rose pink residential and business areas of Jaipur. Meet the
Queen of Jaipur and other ladies of the Royal Family for tea.

Day 7 - JAIPUR / BOMBAY
Morning transfer to airport to board flight for Bombay.
Meeting and assistance on arrival and transfer to hotel.
Half day city tour visiting the Prince of Wales Museum, Gateway
of India, Jain temple Hanging Gardens, Kamla Nehru Park, Mani
Bhawan and Dhobi Ghat. Also drive past Afghan. Church, Flora

Day 8 - BOMBAY / COLOMBO
Morning transfer to airport to board flight for Colombo.

Afternoon city tour of Colombo visiting the Dehiwala Zoo,
Colombo Museum, the main shopping area in the locality, the
Presidential residence, the bazaar in Pettah, Old Parliament,
Bandarnaike memorial conference Hall, Buddhist and Hindu temples
and the main residential areas in Colombo. Also the new
Parliament in Kette.
Visit the Organisation of “The Voice of Women”, “Sthree Prabodha”
- A centre for Women’s Research, “Katha Maga” - representing a
Progressive Women’s Front.

Day 9 - COLOMBO
A full day excursion to Kandy visit the famous “Temple of
the Tooth’ the Kandy the Kandy market place the Peradeniya
Botanical Gardens, the Arts and the Handicrafts Centre Kandy
town including the Lake and a visit to a tea factory.
Overnight at hotel.
Day 10 - DEPART COLOMBO
In time transfer to the airport to board flight for onward
destination.
