Day 1 : Delhi
Arrive Delhi. Met upon arrival and transfer to hotel for
overnight stay.
Day 2: Delhi - Allahabad
Day at leisure in Delhi. Optional sightseeing tour of
Delhi. In the evening board overnight train to Allahabad.
Day 3: Allahabad - Lakhiya
Arrive Allahabad and transfer to the hotel for wash /
change and breakfast. Later proceed to Kilaghat - the starting
point of sailing. Kilaghat has a fort built by the Moghul
Emperor Akbar. A little away from the ghat at "Sangam" three
rivers Ganga, Yamuna and Saraswati join togather and flow as
one. At this meeting place people take dip here to wash away
their sins. Set sail eastward to Varanasi. Reach Lakhiya in the
evening. Camp on the bank / island in the river for overnight
stay.
Day 4: Lakhiya - Usmanpur
After breakfast set sail to reach Usmanpur by
covering approx 35 kms in 08 Hrs by river. Due to the turns and
the curves the distance is more by river than by road. This adds
thrill to the sailing. Reach Usmanpur in the evening. Camp on
the river bank / island for overnight stay.
Day 5: Usmanpur - Murdaghat
After breakfast set sail to reach Murdaghat covering
approx. 45 Kms in 09 hrs by river. Reach camping spot by dusk
for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 6: Murdaghat - Mirzapur :
Start sailing towards Mirzapur in the morning. After
about 4 hrs, stop at Vindhyachal. Visit the temple dedicated to
Goddess Kali. After the visit have your lunch on an Island
nearby and sail further to reach camping spot in approx. 4 hrs
time for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 7: Mirzapur - Varanasi
Proceed for last leg of sailing to Varanasi. Enroute
visit Chunar Fort of Medieval India and Ramnagar Fort which is a
17th century fort with interesting museum. finish sailing at
first Ghat of Varanasi 'Lanka Ghat'. From Lanka Ghat drive to
hotel in Varanasi.
Day 8: Varanasi
After an early morning a boat cruise on river Ganga
walk through the narrow lanes of Varanasi visiting Kashi
Vishwanatha or Golden temple. Afternoon visit Sarnath, where
Lord Buddha gave his first sermon.
Day 9: Varanasi - Delhi - Depart:
Morning free for individual activities. Transfer to
airport to board flight for Delhi. Met upon arrival and transfer
to international airport in time to board flight for onward
destination.
